About Brazilian Hair Straightening

Brazilian hair straightening, either through a keratin treatment or the quick “Brazilian Blowout,” or “escôva,” has been around for decades.

Also known as “progressive blow dry,” this treatment heat-seals your hair cuticles with keratin, a protein similar to those that are in your hair naturally.

Instead of chemically altering the hair or applying a “reverse-perm” as done in Japanese thermal straightening,  the Brazilian keratin system minimizes the damage as the hair takes in the nurturing protein and comes alive.

Escôva can last for about a week, while the progressive hair treatments with Keratin can last anywhere from 2-6 months, depending on your hair.
